Biography I've always been interested in photography, it's been my main hobby since I was a teenager in the 1980's. My passion for Landscape started about ten years ago and co-incided with the rise in popularity of this subject in the UK. I learnt most of my technique in the early days from the books of the great British Landscape photographer, Charlie Waite and after my last meeting with Charlie I was inspired to start printing my own monochrome landscapes. These days I follow the work of many photographers but try to experiment and develop my own technical approach. The thing I've learnt more than anything over the last ten years is how to enjoy the wilderness and outdoors. I often find myself in remote locations, at strange hours and witnessing extraordinary things. Most of my photography is of the South East of England however I visit Cumbria and Scotland as often as I can. I regularly give talks about my photography at Photography Clubs and my images have been published on numerous occasions in UK Magazines. In 2006 one of my monochrome landscapes, Southern End of Derwent was selected by Ilford to promote their company. I occasionaly have prints accepted into Exhibitions run by my local camera club in addition to Regional and National Exhibitions. In 1999 I was awarded a Salon Medal at the London Salon of Photography. |
